Booking a Session
Appointments are available in person or via Telehealth on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
A limited number of after-hours appointments are available on Tuesday and Wednesday, via Telehealth only.
I attempt to find a time that suits both of us and, where possible, offer that on a regular basis. It may help to know that I anticipate that you will be able to commit to fortnightly appointments for the first 6 to 8 sessions (unless the issue resolves earlier). This reflects the consistency required to make meaningful change in our lives, and is supported by research recommendations for the effectiveness of therapy, particularly where there may be relational or other trauma.
Fees
Initial appointment $300 (85 minutes), subsequent sessions $250 (55 minutes).
Clients with a Mental Health Care Plan will receive a rebate of $141.85 per session, reducing the cost of most sessions to $108.15.
Rebates
Medicare Rebates | Mental Health Care Plan
If you are referred to a psychologist by your GP you can claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.
A Medicare Rebate is available to people who have a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP or Psychiatrist. You will need to book an appointment with your GP to discuss this. Inform the receptionist about the reason for your visit when you are booking, as you will require a longer appointment time. A review by your GP or Psychiatrist is required at 6 sessions, and 10 sessions.
A Mental Health Care Plan can be transferred to a different psychologist, regardless of the name of the Psychologist on the referral.
Note that it is not possible to receive a Medicare Rebate for couples therapy.
Health Care Rebates
Many health funds also offer rebates for Psychology sessions. Please contact your health insurance provider to determine the level of your rebate, as this varies between funds.
Please note that it is not possible to receive a Health Fund rebate for a session that has been rebated via Medicare.
